Monday- October 4, 20107- now the weather has shifted, the wonderful wine shop in the Bywater is the perfect place to hear great music and eat great food in an outdoor setting.  This evening, the guitarist’s weekly gig features the baritone saxophonist Dan Oestreicher (pictured) who is on break from conquering the world with Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue.  They recently appeared twice on national television amid a tour that took them to some of the biggest festivals in the world.  The group tonight also features Aurora Nealand on saxophones, Jesse Morrow on bass and Doug Garrison on drums.

Friday, October 1, 2010- the most famous reggae band in the world returns to New Orleans tonight to bring the classic sound of Jamaica to local fans.  They are also celebrating their first new song in sixteen years.  “A Step for Mankind,” which was written by Wailers’ vocalist Duane Stephenson, is a call for world unity and strength to support the ongoing struggle against world hunger. The band is joined on the track by new lead singer Koolant, a fresh talent from the heart of St. Thomas known for blazing a positive future for reggae music. All proceeds from the song will go to benefit the World Food Programme.  Show time is 10 PM.
