Jenn Howard To Celebrate CD Release Tonight at Carrollton Station- Free CDs with Paid Admission!

Bathtub Music presents the release of the CD Up At Night from local singer Jenn Howard. After nearly a decade-long hiatus from the world of music, the powerhouse vocalist returns with a powerful collection of original work.

Howard, best remembered for her work with alternative indie rock band Project Nim, returns to her hometown of New Orleans with a backing band featuring Marc Paradis, Dave Pomerleau, Andre Bohren and Andre Mouton from Johnny Sketch and the Dirty Notes. Guitarist Felix Wolleben and drummer David Mahoney join them at Carrollton Station on Friday December 18, 2009.

The CD, produced by Ovis, was recorded at The Music Shed in March of 2009. Up at Night features 13 original tracks written by Howard over the last several years as she pondered her departure from the New York music scene, where she and Project Nim released three critically acclaimed CDs during the late 90’s, and as she struggled upon her return to New Orleans and a more low-key life working in restaurants and as a pre-kindergarten teacher at a local parochial school.

Howard has spent the last year sharpening her songs and working closely with her bandmates to assure that they deliver the kind of powerhouse performances that made her a respected figure on the local scene during the 90’s when she packed local clubs such as House of Blues, Tipitinas, The Howlin’ Wolf and Café Brazil. Everyone attending the show will be given a CD to reacquaint themselves with this formidable New Orleans artist.
