Home for the Holidays Benefit Tonight at the House of Blues

When artist/musician Daniel Price was murdered in San Francisco his family and friends turned a major tragedy into a major gift. They created the Daniel Price Memorial Fund for Aspiring Artists. Every year the organization throws a concert to provide scholarships to students at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Price’s alma mater.

The event is this evening, December 23, 2009, at the House of Blues. It begins with a patron party featuring NovaNola- a Brazilian-inspired group led by guitarist Steve Masakowski and his vocalist daughter Sasha. They will have John Boutte and Theresa Andersson as special guests. The patron party begins at 6 PM. The main event starts at 7:30 PM and features some of the best talent in New Orleans. Each of the main performers will have special guests during their sets.

Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers will feature Amanda Shaw and Shamarr Allen. Eric Lindell will feature Stanton Moore and Thomas Johnson. Jonathan Batiste will feature Herlin Riley and Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue will feature James Andrews and Rockin’ Dopsie. It should be a great night for a great cause.
