George Sartin/Jack Cruz Project at Whiskey Dix

This evening, January 21, 2010, two of the most stalwart players in the funk and soul idiom will be performing together at 1735 St. Charles Ave.  The bassist Jack Cruz is best known for his long time tenure with Walter “Wolfman” Washington.  He is a versatile player with sympathetic ears who gets deep into the pocket.  The guitarist George Sartin is a veteran of the legendary Benny’s Bar.  He is also a versatile player versed in jazz, soul, rock and funk.  This new project has been playing regularly around town including gigs at the Buddha Belly on Magazine Street.  The show begins at 9 PM.
