Tonight, January 26, 2010, one of the unsung vocalists of New Orleans headlines at Mid City Lanes. James “The Sleeping Giant” Winfield has been performing quite a lot lately and is a regular guest on gigs with Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers and others.  He has not had too many shows as a leader and tonight he has a killer band- Keith Vinet on Keys, Garry Nabonne on drums, Derrick Houston on sax, Larry Santiago on guitar, and Jack Cruz from Walter “Wolfman” Washington’s band on bass.  The show begins at 8:30 PM.
