This evening, the annual riverboat party leaves from Spanish Plaza at the foot of Poydras Street at 6:30 PM.  There is truly something special about a river boat ride down the Mississippi River as the sun sets in the distance.  The band always brings it and they usually play something special.  Last year’s treat was a ripping version of Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water.”  Or was that the year before…?
