Thursday- October 7, 2010- when he first burst on the indie rock scene, he was noticed as much for his hairstyle and facial hair as his music.  Now he is recognized as one of the founding members of a new musical style- freak-folk.  However, Banhart is not content to rest of his laurels.  His new album has him heading into another musical direction.  He mines the 1960s musical revolution that occurred in Brazil with the Tropicalia movement.
