Saturday, August 25th, 2012 – Tipitina’s Foundation has announced a benefit on Saturday, September 29th, 2012 at world famous Tipitina’s night club. Entitled “Fess’ House Party New Orleans Stytle,” the event is a benefit to renovate and preserve the family home of legendary New Orleans pianist Professor Longhair, for whose song “Tipitina” the club is named. The music for the evening features an all star cast of new orleans legends, several of whom actually played with Professor Longhair. The house band will be George Porter Jr. and the Tipitina’s All Stars featuring special guests Dr. John, Ellis Marsalis, Jon Cleary, Ed Volker. The night will begin with the T.I.P.S interns, led by Donald Harrison Jr. Doors at 8pm.
